Rockland Farmers Market Returns Saturday

by | Jul 23, 2021

The first Rockland Farmers Market of the summer launched earlier this month, and Manager Alyson Le Phipps says about 1,200 people attended the event.

The next farmer’s market takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hartsuff Park.

“We’re helping these local farmers, you’re not paying a company who pays for shipping and all the extra stuff,” said Phipps. “We have Daddy’s Homegrown, who is locally-sourced in East Bridgewater. They are the farmers. The ones selling to you, to your hand, are the farmers. You’re putting money in their pocket.”

This weekend’s farmer’s market will include food trucks, local vendors, and a beer garden in partnership with Barrel House Z.

A police detail has been hired, and the space at Hartsuff Park has been re-arranged for better access.

Phipps said she’s looking forward to seeing the community gather in-person.

“Healing from the year that we’ve just been in and seeing everybody only through the lens of social media and Facebook, you only get to see their opinions and not their face. We lose a big part of the way we socialize, the way we respect each other as humans through that,” said Phipps. “For me, it’s more getting the artists on the front.”

The market is located at 146 Hingham Street. More information can be found on the Rockland Farmers Market Facebook page.
