The Duxbury Public Schools say a staff member has been placed on paid leave as they investigate an allegation of sexual assault.
Duxbury School Superintendent Danielle Klingaman said in a letter to the community that a family publicly accused a school administrator of sexually assaulting their elementary school child, but were not cooperating with the investigation. School officials wrote that the allegation is “blatantly untrue.”
“The allegation by the family is appalling and deeply disturbing. We take matters of this nature seriously and rely on working with families to gather the facts,” said Klingaman in a media statement. “We have invited the family and their counsel to provide us with further information, but, to date, they have not responded.”
The staff member was placed on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
Duxbury Police Chief Stephen McDonald confirmed that his department is actively investigating the allegation, but could not release further information at this time.
“We are confident the investigation will prove these charges are without merit,” said Klingaman.
