Funeral Procession Planned for Marshfield’s Danny Sheehan

by | Aug 11, 2021 | News

A funeral procession is planned as a final farewell to eight-year-old Danny Sheehan, a Marshfield native who battled brain cancer for four years.

Visiting hours will take place today at the St. Christine’s Church in Marshfield from 2-6 p.m.

The Marshfield Police Department is asking residents to line the streets, yards, and sidewalks for the procession, which takes place tonight at 7 p.m.

An escort will take place from St. Christine’s Church to form up with Police and Fire vehicles by the Furnace Brook School.

The procession will go down Route 139, turning onto Dyke Road, Careswell Street, onto Webster Street, back onto Route 139, ending at the MacDonald’s Funeral Home.

Sheehan was named an honorary member of the Police Department, and loved the superhero Aquaman. He raised funds for non-profits, loved telling jokes, and was described as a “wise old man in a little boy’s body.”

In lieu of flowers, family members are asking that donations be made to Cops for Kids with Cancer.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Christine’s tomorrow at 10 a.m.
