Duxbury police say a home was struck by a bullet on Chandler Street this afternoon.
Duxbury Police Chief Stephen McDonald says they responded to the scene around noon — a homeowner on Chandler Street said a bullet went through a wall.
While searching for witnesses, an officer met with a neighbor who admitted to firing the bullet.
64-year-old Michael Dennett is charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, two counts of improper storage of a firearm, and wanton destruction of property.
Dennett’s firearms license was suspended and his ammunition was seized.
Due to the proximity of the Chandler Elementary School, the early dismissal was delayed for a short time until police determined there was no threat to students.
