A motorcyclist sustained life threatening injuries following a crash in Middleborough.
Police Chief Joseph Perkins says that shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday officers and fire crews responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash near 83 Plymouth St.
First responders arrived on scene where they found that a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle sustained serious damage after being struck by a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica minivan.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 55-year-old Kingston man, was transported to a local hospital.
Perkins says the driver of the minivan, identified as a 45-year-old Brockton man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police at this time. He declined medical treatment.
A preliminary investigation has indicated that the Chrysler crossed the double yellow line and struck the motorcycle, however Perkins says the investigation is in its early stages.
Witnesses told police an adult female passenger of the minivan fled from the scene, and they are currently searching for her.
The incident remains under investigation.
