In Plymouth, County Commissioners, at their recent meeting, announce the release of an additional six million dollars in Cares Act funds to the twenty-seven municipalities that make up Plymouth County.

County Administrator Frank Basler says this is good news…
“…this is great news because this reimbursement will allow towns not to have to cut other services or programs to fund Covid expenses.”
And Commissioners heard an update on ARPA or the American Rescue Plan Act: funds:
“Treasurer Tom O’Brien also updated the Commissioners on the ARPA program. Now the ARPA is an additional hundred and three
million dollars coming to the County from the federal government for our communities for a number of projects.”
So when will ARPA funds be available?
“We will be having meetings end of September on the process and procedures for the towns to receive their funds.
Also, reorganization took place:
“Chair Greg Hanley has recently been appointed as the Holbrook Town Administrator. He, realizing the demand of this new position, has stepped down as chairman, in order to allow Sandra Wright, who was then voted as the new chairman, to allow full focus on the position.”
The next meeting of the County Commissioners is September 29th at noon.
