Thirteen Year Old Dies in Dirt Bike Crash

A 13-year-old girl was killed and another man injured in a Wareham dirt bike crash.
The victim is identified as Ava Pioppi, of Carver.
The fatal dirt bike crash happened on Monday afternoon around 4:00pm at Wareham MX park, on the Cranberry highway.
State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County D.A’s office investigation revealed that the young woman was traveling southbound on the dirt bike track and lost control after landing a jump- she swerved into a parallel lane with northbound riders and collided with a male rider.
Pioppi was taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.
The male rider was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
