Unofficial results from Brockton’s preliminary election.
In Brockton’s preliminary election, Mayor Robert Sullivan topped the ballot with 4,236 votes (70.98%). Tina Cardoso had 1,330 votes (22.29%).
Cardoso and Sullivan will face off in the Mayor’s race during the November 2 City Election.
Eugenie Kavanagh had 225 votes in the race (3.77%).
For Councillor at Large, the field was narrowed down to eight candidates for four seats. Candidates for re-nomination; Rita Mendes, had 2,796 votes (11.71%), Moises Rodrigues had 2,780 votes (11.65%), Winthrop Farwell, Jr. had 2,568 votes (10.76%).
Gary Keith, Sr. had 1,812 votes (7.59%), Jean Bradley Derenoncourt had 1,619 votes (6.78%), David Teixeira had 1,566 votes (6.56%), and Michael Nunes had 863 votes (3.62%). Jamal Brathwaite had 530 votes (2.22%).
Julio Pomar had 434 votes (1.82%) and Widmayer Ambroise had 312 votes (1.31%) were knocked out of the race.
For Ward 2 Councillor, Maria Tavares had 317 votes (53.01%) and Jamie Hodges had 176 votes (29.43%) to advance. Rigoberto Quinones had 56 votes (9.36%).
For Ward 3 Councillor, Mark D’Agostino had 588 votes (55.47%) and Gerson Sergio Monteiro had 203 votes (19.15%) to advance. George Brickhouse, Jr. had 183 votes (17.26%).
For Ward 3 School Committee, Jared Homer had 365 votes (34.43%) and Alan Green had 245 votes (23.11%).
Anna Oliver had 209 votes (19.72%) and Matthew Stanton had 129 votes (12.17%).
For Ward 6 Councillor, incumbent John Lally had 657 votes (68.30%) and John Troxell, Jr. had 137 votes (14.24%).
Elizabeth Laso had 134 votes (13.93%).
