It’s become a tradition for the Norwell Area Military Veterans, they call it the Oldest Vets Luncheon.

David Osborne is the Norwell Veterans Agent, and was hosting the 200+ person event at Hanover’s Alba restaurant, on Tuesday.
I had an opportunity to speaks with Jules Selden, a retired marine captain, who served as a platoon commander, in Vietnam.
I asked for a run-through of the impressive line up of medals and ribbons on his jacket.
Deedee Rogers, the outreach coordinator, served in the US Marine Corps, from 1974 to 1976, at headquarters Marine Corps, as a legal clerk/court reporter.
Wally Rockwell, Sr., of Norwell, still active and driving at 98 years old, attended the luncheon with his son, Wally Jr.
Wally Sr. joined the Coast Guard at 19-years-old.
He said joining the military was a pivotal time in his life.
The entire tab for the veteran’s luncheon was picked up by a generous Norwell family.
