If you’re heading out on a boat, a life jacket is essential.
Kevin Ritchie, a Division Commander with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, tells WATD News that it’s important to ensure you have enough.
Ritchie says it’s also important to make sure you’re getting the right life jacket.
When you do head out on the water, Ritchie says it’s important to let people know about your float plan.
Watercraft should also display contact information.
