Marshfield Special Town Meeting Approves Additional DPW Facility Funding, 17 Zoning Amendments

Zoning bylaw changes and funding for the DPW facility project were on the warrant for the Marshfield Fall Town Meeting.

Town Administrator Michael Maresco says more funds are needed due to higher-than-expected construction costs.

The bid for the project needed an additional $1.8 million dollars – that was approved by voters. 17 other zoning articles were approved at the meeting.

An article to allow large-scale solar farms in the Water Resource Protection District was not approved.

Article 22 – allowing mixed-use development in the Brant Rock district was approved.

Voters approved an article to allow marijuana establishments to add a cultivation use, in addition to retail. Voters approved articles renaming the Board of Selectmen to Select Board.

Marshfield’s Special Town Meeting concluded in one night.
