One person has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Brockton last week.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday Brockton Police officers responded to the area of Prospect St. and Walnut St. for a report of shots fired with a person struck.
Upon arrival officers found a 2003 Honda Civic crashed into a utility pole and a male driver suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
The victim, later identified as 28-year-old Nelito Lopes, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital before being Medflighted to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston where he was pronounced dead.
A murder arrest warrant was issued at 3:15 a.m. Saturday for 24-year-old Asa St. Louis, who was believed to be in Boston.
Brockton Police, working with Massachusetts State Police Detectives, the MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and Boston Police worked throughout the weekend to find St. Louis and he was located in Boston later that morning and arrested without incident.
St. Louis is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court on one count of murder.
