An autopsy has found that 5-year-old Elijah Lewis died of violence and neglect.
New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella announced in a statement today, the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the manner of death was homicide – including facial and scalp injuries, fentanyl intoxication, and malnourishment.
On October 14th, Lewis was reported missing from New Hampshire, which sparked a multi-state investigation. His body was found nine days later off Chestnut Street in Abington.
Elijah’s mother, 35-year-old Danielle Dauphinais and her boyfriend – 30-year-old Joseph Stapf, are being held without bail on charges of Witness Tampering and Child Endangerment. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
