A bomb threat caused a school evacuation in Abington.

School Superintendent Peter Schafer says the bomb threat was discovered for the Abington Pre-Kindergarten/Middle/High School just as students were arriving to school Monday morning.

Abington Police were notified and a decision was made to evacuate the building.

High School students and staff were sent to the Frolio School and Middle School students were sent to the Beaver Brook Elementary School.

Pre-Kindergarten students hadn’t begun arriving yet.

Schafer says Abington Police, Abington Fire, and the State Police Bomb Squad searched the building and deemed it safe to return around 9 a.m.

The incident is being investigated and anyone with information is being asked to contact a school administrator, Det. Sgt. Kevin Cutter at 781-878-3232 ext. 5282, or the Abington Police Dept. Anonymous Tip Line at 781-878-0100.
