In Braintree, there were five contested races on the ballot — three for Town Council, one for School Committee, and one for Electric Light Board.
With unofficial results for District 1 Councilor, Julia Flaherty was re-elected with 555 votes. Jodi Killeffer had 549 votes. There were 3 write-in votes and 338 blank votes in that race.
For District 2, Joseph Reynolds was elected with 456 votes. John Mullaney had 346 votes, Carol-ann Ricardo had 326 votes.
For District 3, Elizabeth Maglio had 425 votes. Thomas Bowes had 238 votes.
Seven people ran for three open seats on the School Committee.
Lisa Fiske-Heger was elected with 2,718 votes, Matthew Lynch was elected with 2,319 votes, and Kathleen Dryer Tuffy was elected with 2,220 votes.
Stephanie Burrell had 1,658 votes, Linda Doucette had 1,462 votes, Thomas Thackeray had 1,297 votes, Treacy Lewald had 1,190 votes.
Incumbents Thomas Reynolds and James Regan were re-elected to the Electric Light Board. Reynolds had 3,090 votes, Regan had 2,510, Stephen O’Brien had 1,601 votes, and John McKinley, III had 826 votes.
