In Brockton, Mayor Robert Sullivan was elected to serve another term.
With unofficial results, Mayor Robert Sullivan was elected to a second term with 8,095 votes over Councilor-at-Large Tina Cardoso, who had 3,194 votes.
“It’s very humbling. I’m honored and really privileged. To get the voters to give me their vote of confidence, I cherish it,” said Sullivan. “There’s a lot of work to do. I said that the last term is really the COVID term. We’re not through that yet, but we have a lot of work to do. I really look forward to working in a collaborative manner to really better Brockton for everybody.”
Supporters gathered at Tommy Doyle’s at Sidelines to celebrate Sullivan’s win. He says the city is in a position to recover, and thrive after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re going to continue to work with our Board of Health, with DPH, and the state. We still have a lot of work to do from a health standpoint,” said Sullivan. “From an economy standpoint, Brockton is booming, it’s on the radar for investors and developers, and so I’m really just excited to see what the next two years will bring for the City of Champions.”
