Crews were called to the scene a fire at a Hanover home.
Fire officials say that at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday they received a report of a possible structure fire at 384 Cedar St.
Upon arrival firefighters found smoke showing from a single-family residential structure and a further investigation revealed moderate smoke within the interior of the structure and fire inside the wall.
Crews used thermal imaging cameras and tools to determine the location and extent of the fire and it was quickly extinguished.
The fire was contained to a single wall on the first floor of the structure behind and adjacent to the fire place.
It was determined the fire was caused by a previous fire in the fire place that had unknowingly heated combustible building materials behind the chimney mantle with an initial damage estimate of $75,000.
No injuries were reported.
Rockland, Hanson and Pembroke provided mutual aid.
