The Plympton Police Department will be hosting an open house and a coffee with a cop event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Special Police Officer Laicey Ieronimo says it’s a way to bring the community together.
“We’re looking forward to being able to interact and talk to all the residents in a comfortable setting, and just enjoy coffee,” said Ieronimo. “There’s going to be some other treats there, and we get to do this event with the kids as well.”
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting fingerprinting for kids.
“I love these events, just because I think it’s always a great time to have the day to get to know people a little bit better. It’s always a fun event, anything that’s community-oriented,” said Ieronimo. “I think a lot of the other officers at the department feel exactly the same way.”
The Police Department is also hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive. People can bring donations to the station.
“Our food drive ends on November 15th, and all of the donations will be brought to the Plymouth Area Coalition as they serve several local communities, such as Plympton,” said Ieronimo. “We have a drop-off box in the lobby. If community members are coming to the open house, they can bring their donations then. We’ve had a great response with that.”
The police station is located at 7 Palmer Road.
