Abington – The 68th Annual Tri-Town Veterans Day Parade with Abington, Rockland, and Whitman starts at 10 a.m. from the Abington Police Station. It will continue North on Washington Street, right onto Adams Street, right onto North Avenue (Route 139), and will finish by the Depot Restaurants.
Braintree – Ceremony will be held at the Town Hall Cahill Auditorium. Coffee and donuts will be served at 9:30 a.m., the program will begin at 10:30 a.m.
At 2 p.m., a WWII Memorial Peace Medal ceremony will take place at the Braintree Police Station to honor Officers Richard Siebert, Matthew Donoghue, and William Cushing for their heroic actions in the line of duty on June 4, 2021. Cushing and Donoghue were shot multiple times while searching for a suspect in a domestic dispute. Cushing’s police K-9, Kitt, was shot and killed.
On Friday, a Veterans Day breakfast will be held at 10 a.m. at the Elder Affairs/Veterans Building.
Bridgewater – The Tri-Town Parade with Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, and West Bridgewater will start on Dean Street in Bridgewater. The parade steps off at 9:45 a.m. and will turn left onto Summer Street, to Route 104, left on Route 28, to Legion Field.
This year’s theme is “Proud to Serve our Nation,” with trophies awarded for Best Marching Unit, Best Float/Theme, and Judges’ Choice.
Brockton – Parade will form up at 9:30 a.m. the War Memorial Building at 156 West Elm Street, and will step off at 10 a.m. The parade will turn south on Newbury Street, east on Belmont Street, North onto VFW Parkway, and a ceremony will follow at City Hall Plaza.
Cohasset – At 9:30 a.m., coffee and bagels will be served at the George H. Mealy Legion Post. A ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Lunch will follow at the Mealy Legion Post at noon.
This year’s ceremony will feature fifth grade essay contest winners from the Deer Hill School, and the singers from the high school chorus.
Duxbury – American Legion Post 223 will hold its annual celebration at the Post Hall (5 West Street) at 11 a.m.
Hanover – Ceremony will take place at the American Legion Post #149 at 104 King Street at 11 a.m. The event will include brunch, guest speakers, and a cornhole tournament for charity.
Hingham – The Corporal Lawrence St. Laurent, USMC Breakfast will take place in the Hingham Town Hall’s Central Meeting Room from 8:30-10:30 a.m. The main ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Sanborn Auditorium at Town Hall. The principal speaker will be Captain Benjamin Dulieu, USMC, who served during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Hull – Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the War Memorial Wall.
Kingston – Luncheon and program will take place at the Kingston Council on Aging from 12-2 p.m.
Marshfield – Parade forms at 10 a.m. at Library Plaza, parade starts at 10:30 a.m. with a left onto Ocean Street, it will pause at the Town Green at Town Hall, and will proceed down Route 139 to Veterans Memorial Park. A ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow at the new veterans home at 2033 Ocean Street.
Norwell – A coffee and pastry event will take place for veterans at the Central Fire Station (677 Main Street) from 11-1.
Plymouth – Ceremony will take place at Memorial Hall in the Blue Room, starting at 11 a.m. The Guest of Honor will be Lance Cpl. Nicholas Eufrazio, who was wounded in a grenade attack while serving in Afghanistan.
Quincy – The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Quincy High School, it will move from Russell Park to Hancock Street. It will pause at the Doughboy Statue at the intersection of Furnace Brook Parkway. The parade will continue to Merrymount Park.
Scituate – Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Scituate Senior Center at 333 First Parish Road. The ceremony will include a rifle salute, playing of taps, and the signing of the National Anthem. A POW/MIA remembrance will take place in the banquet room of the senior center, lunch will follow. The Scituate Food Pantry will have gift bags for veterans.
Weymouth – Services begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Korean War Memorial in Jackson Square. The parade starts at 10:15 a.m., running from Jackson Square to Town Hall via Broad Street and Middle Street. Services follow at 11 a.m. at the Ralph Talbot Amphitheater, next to Town Hall. A flag retirement ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at King Oak Hill Park.
