The thirteenth edition of the Veterans’ Voice Food Drive-Thru will be taking place today in front of the WATD studio.
Craig Wolfe, the co-host of Veterans Voice Radio, says the event is open to anyone in need, there’s no registration.
The event takes place from noon until 2 p.m. today in front of the WATD studios at 130 Enterprise Drive in Marshfield.
“It’s just fun to watch everybody so happy, working together. The people that drive through are getting to be regulars, so we all talk and we all laugh together,” said Wolfe. “It’s just gratifying. You feel valued, the people feel valued, everyone feels comfortable.”
The food is provided by the South Shore Community Action Council and End Hunger New England. From breads, meats, and more, there’s groceries to feed plenty of families.
“I think one guy comes by three times,” said Wolfe. “They drive by and fill up their pickup trucks or their cars one, two, three times just to give to their neighbors. WATD has people come out and play music, we’re singing, we’re dancing we’re playing in the street.”
People can listen to Veterans’ Voice on Thursday Nights from 7 to 8 p.m. right here on 959 WATD.
