In Plymouth, County Commissioners will distribute close to four hundred thousand Covid test kits to the 27 communities that make up Plymouth County. And in another development have put the wood lot out to bid.

“So through the Cares Act, we obviously capped our communities at twice as much money than the state did. A few communities used as much money as they possibly could, but some of them didn’t need to spend to their cap, so by virtue of having some money not spent, through the Cares program, gratefully we were able to mass purchase three hundred and sixty thousand, or so test kits that we’re going to be able to distribute to our communities.”
The County hopes to receive the test kits within the next two weeks and will notify town administrators as soon as they arrive.
In other County action, Valenzola says the Commissioners are interested in developing the wood lot, a property of about a hundred acres, off Camelot Drive in Plymouth:
“We’re certainly interested in seeing what could be a potential use for that property, so we put out a request for proposal. Once those are in, in March, we’re going to examine them and we’ll see what comes from that.”
In dealing with use of the wood lot before, the problem was that there was no clear access to it:
“So the access has actually been taken care of through a couple of parcel purchases that my predecessors made—so there are a couple of access points now available to access that property for potential use.”
