One person has been arrested following a fatal crash in Hull.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that at around 10 p.m. Thursday Hull Police received a report about a Ford F-150 truck that had been stolen from an autobody shop on Nantasket Ave.
A short time later, an officer in the area spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The DA’s Office says it appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a utility pole along Rockaway Ave.
The driver then fled on foot while officers administered aid to the passenger, 52-year-old Michael Peters of Hull, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after the crash, Hull Police responded to 1621 Avalon Dr. for a report of a domestic assault and home invasion.
They then located 40-year-old Karl Sault of Hull, who the DA’s Office says is believed to be the driver of the stolen motor vehicle, at a nearby home and he was taken into custody
Sault is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Hingham District Court on charges of Domestic Assault and Battery, Breaking and Entering, and Intimidation of a Witness.
The investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing.
Hull Police say the officer involved has been placed on paid leave, as is the standard procedure, as the incident is investigated.
