Eight people are displaced after a three-alarm fire in Rockland Saturday night.
Fire Chief Scott Duffey says a second-floor tenant noticed smoke and fire coming from the walls of a multi-family home at 63 Linden Street. They got the occupants safely out of the building.
At this time, a firefighter suffered a minor, non-life threatening injury. They were not transported to the hospital, but are being monitored. Numerous towns provided mutual aid, including Abington, Hanover, Norwell, Whitman, Randolph, Pembroke, Hanson, and Hingham.
Unfortunately, two units were completely destroyed.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental at this time, but the State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
