A Scituate man is facing charges in connection to a crash on Route 3 in Duxbury that left a man with serious injuries.
State Police say 28-year-old Richard Nohelty was arrested Sunday night. Around 10:21 p.m., troopers responded to reports of a four-vehicle crash. Early investigation indicates Nohelty was driving on Route 3 Northbound when his vehicle struck the left-side guard rail and became disabled.
Three other vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash when they swerved to avoid hitting Nohelty’s vehicle. A 59-year-old Plymouth man was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries. Two other drivers were transported to hospitals with minor injuries.
Police say Nohelty fled the scene on foot, and was located by Scituate Police officers near Beaver Dam Road. He was transported to South Shore Hospital with minor injuries.
He’s facing charges that include leaving the scene of a crash causing personal injury, negligent operation, and speeding.
