Say hello to Sidney! Sidney is aGreat Dane and Black Lab mix, a gentle giant looking for a couch to call his very own. At 11-years-old, this dane mix weighs about 95 lbs. Extremely loved in his last home, Sidney is feeling pretty down being at the shelter.
Sidney is on medication to help with some anxiety. He has been on this long term, so his new home will need to expect a bit of an extra cost to keep him on this. Our friends at Scituate Animal Shelter have also started him on a join supplement to help his old man joints.
Sidney comes with lots of old man lumps and bumps. He will see the vet to help guide us as to what this guy needs. His previous home took him in for yearly appointments and always had him cared for. We suspect these lumps are just part of old age but we will confirm once we find out.
Sidney gets along with just about anyone. He is likely fine with humans of all ages. He has never lived with cats before but may be fine with a feline who gives him space. He is also likely ok with another senior dog in the home. Any pup too young and too energetic will be overwhelming for him.
We know how much love and care Sidney got from his last home. We hope to replicate this care in the new home, as Sidney truly deserves it. This old man isn’t meant for shelter life. Help us share Sidney to get him out of there soon.
Adoptions are by appointment only. For more information on Sidney email adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org
