The town of Rockland will be distributing free COVID-19 tests to residents.
Town Administrator Douglas Lapp says the rapid antigen tests are from iHealth. The town received 12,600 tests from the Plymouth County Commissioners.
“The Town is extremely grateful that the Plymouth County Commissioners and Treasurer had the foresight to use the region’s remaining CARES Act funds to purchase these test kits for their communities,” Town Administrator Douglas Lapp said in a statement.
The Board of Health also purchased 1,260 tests through a state grant.
The Fire Department and Community Response Team will be hosting a drive-through event on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Middle/High School, located at 52 MacKinlay Way.
Distribution will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. It will be limited to two tests per household.
People must show proof of residency in Rockland, with a driver’s license, government ID, lease, or a utility bill.
