Crews were called to the scene of a fire in Middleborough around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Fire officials say the fire took place at the Acorn Hill Home at 385 West Grove St. with Fire Chief Lance Benjamino saying a State Trooper came to the scene and evacuated residents.
Massachusetts State Police say the trooper was taken to Morton Hospital, where he was treated for smoke inhalation and released.
One resident of the home suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Rhode Island hospital.
The fire is under investigation by Middleborough Police and Fire and the Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Unit.
