A guilty plea was entered Thursday by a Boston man in connection with the robbery of a T-Mobile store in Brockton and shooting at police officers as he and his co-defendants fled the scene.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the incident occurred on the evening of January 26, 2019 when 31-year-old Stephan Rosser-Stewart and his co-defendants Darius Carter and Diovanni Carter entered the store carrying semi-automatic firearms, which they pointed at the store manager as they demanded cash and electronics.
During the incident Darius Carter struck the store manager in the head with a firearm and the men stole approximately $25,000 in cash and electronics before fleeing in a vehicle driven by Diovanni Carter.
Police found the vehicle, and during a high speed pursuit, gunshots were fired at the pursuing officers.
Rosser-Stewart, Darius Carter and Dennis Martin were taking into custody and the stolen phones, cash and the three firearms used in robbery were recovered.
Diovanni Carter fled the scene and he was apprehended in March 2019.
Rosser-Stewart pleaded guilty to interference with commerce by robbery; conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery; discharging, brandishing, using and carrying a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence; and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
The other defendants were already convicted or entered pleas in connection with the case.
Sentencing for Rosser-Stewart was scheduled for July 20, 2022.
