A Brockton man is facing federal charges in connection with a robbery at a Lakeville bank.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says that on November 8, 2021 a masked individual, later determined to be 22-year-old Ribeiro Neves, entered an Eastern Bank branch and allegedly passed a teller two demand notes indicating that a robbery was taking place and that, “a bombing would happen if no payment was made.”
The teller handed Neves the money, and he left leaving the demand notes behind, which contained fingerprints.
A week later a robbery took place at the Cornerstone Bank branch in Worcester, and Neves was taken into custody a few minutes later.
His fingerprints were taken by officers and then linked to the Lakeville robbery.
Neves is being charged with one count of bank robbery and he was detained following an initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Friday.
