Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Route 18 in Abington

State and Abington Police are investigating after a woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Abington.
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says around 7 p.m. last night, Abington police received a call on Route 18, near 1540 Bedford Street, reporting a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck.
A woman, identified as 35-year-old Marissa Voller of Boston, was found in the roadway. She was transported to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
After an investigation, it appears that Voller was in the left travel lane of Route 18 before she was struck.
Visibility was poor in the area, and the weather was misty. The operator of the vehicle called 911 and remained on scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
