Two people have been indicted in connection to a fatal shooting at the South Shore Plaza.
Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrisey says a grand jury returned indictments against Julius Hammond-Desir, who was 19 at the time of a January shooting at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree.
He’s charged with the murder of 26-year-old Dijoun Beasley after an altercation inside one of the stores.
Hammond-Desir, who is from Maynard, has been held without bail since arraignment in District Court.
27-year-old Samantha Schwartz was indicted on charges of accessory after the fact of murder and carrying a firearm.
Morrisey says an arraignment in Superior Court will be finalized in the coming week.
The incident was the third shooting in the last five years at the South Shore Plaza.
In July of 2020, a 15-year-old girl was struck in the hand and chest when a man fired a gun at the Plaza. She was an innocent bystander, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Two men exchanged gunfire inside the shoe department of Macy’s in a 2017 incident. There were no injuries in that incident.
