One person has died after a pickup truck went into the water in Carver Saturday night.
Police say that shortly before 8 p.m. they received two 911 calls reporting that a vehicle had gone into the water in the cranberry bog behind 7 Holmes St.
Upon arrival crews found a 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck on its roof in a pond with the passenger compartment submerged.
They began trying to free the occupants inside the vehicle, along with “several other citizens on scene” who tried to assist.
Eventually they were able to enter the vehicle and remove the occupant, identified only as a 35-year old male resident, who was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth but didn’t survive.
Officials say a family-member of the victim, who also tried to assist was transported to the hospital.
The incident is under investigation by the Carver Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
