Eight Contested Races, Ballot Question For Halifax Election

There will be eight contested races when Halifax hold its Annual Town Election on Saturday.

The first race will see three candidates; Robert McCarthy, Naja Robert Nessralla, and Jonathan Selig vying for a seat with a one year term.

The second race will see incumbent Gordon Andrews facing challenger Alexander Meade for a 3-year-term on the board.

Three candidates; Holly Merry, Robert Mullen, and Michael Schleiff will be vying for a seat on the Board of Assessors.

The race for Constable will see three candidates vying for two slots with incumbents Thomas Hammond and Thomas Schindler facing challenger Michael Schleiff.

There will be two races for Halifax Elementary School Committee, with the first race seeing Jennifer Ann Carroll and Karyn Beth Townsend competing for a one year term.

The second race will see Jessica Page and Peter Parcellin competing for a three year term.

Gordon Andrews is seeking another term on the Planning Board as he faces challenger Robert Gaynor.

The race for Board of Water Commissioners will see incumbent Donald Bosworth facing a challenge from Robert McCarthy.

There will also be a ballot question regarding renovations for the Council On Aging.

Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Halifax Elementary School.
