The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary has been looking for a missing tag that was used to study sei whales.
Dr. Tammy Silva, a marine ecologist, spoke with WATD, saying they were searching Cape Cod Bay, Long Beach in Plymouth, but they finally got some good news.
The tags are about six inches in length, and radio frequencies are used to track them.
She says research is not common for sei whales, NOAA is the first group to put tags on the whales.
They work with the University of Michigan and Syracuse University to analyze some of the data.
