Local public safety officials joined WATD in studio to discuss preparations for the 4th of July weekend in Marshfield and Scituate.

Both towns will be on the lookout for underage alcohol consumption.

Bonfires are not allowed in Scituate, but small camp fires are allowed only on July 3rd. In Marshfield, permits for cook fires can be picked up at the Fire Station. People should “park smart,” and make sure there is room for emergency vehicles on streets.

WATD’s Christine James interviewed Marshfield Fire Chief Jeff Simpson, Marshfield Police Lieutenant Artie Shaw, Scituate Fire Chief John Murphy, and Scituate Police Lieutenant Paul Norton.
