Pembroke school officials say an 8th grade student died by suicide.
In a letter to the community, Principal Donna McGarrigle identified the student as Matthew McManus.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, they will follow a typical schedule, but counselors will be available to any student in need.
McGarrigle said Matthew’s parents wanted the community to know he loved retro arcade games, 80’s rock and roll, and all kinds of music.
The family requests that people respect their privacy at this time.
