Plymouth Town Meeting was held over a remote format, and members considered the purchase of the 23-acre Chiltonville property, and four other articles.
About 3 hours into the meeting, the article was not approved — 59 people voted to purchase the property, 84 voted against the purchase.
Richard Serkey, a Town Meeting member for Precinct 2, took issue with the proposal.
Amy Heine from Precinct 12 spoke in favor of the purchase.
By a vote of 107 to 31, Town Meeting approved a home-rule petition to allow for a hybrid format for future town meetings.
Voters also approved an article to lease town property for telecommunications purposes.
A citizen’s petition to amend wetland bylaws was not approved.
The Plymouth Special Town Meeting concluded in one night.
