Three bullets were found inside a Milton school on Friday.
Superintendent James Jette says that shortly after 10 a.m. a lockdown was initiated at Pierce Middle School after live ammunition, identified as a 9 mm bullet, was found in the sink of a second floor bathroom.
911 was called and first responders arrived immediately on the scene.
Milton Police received assistance from the Quincy and Boston Police and specially trained Ballistic K-9’s were brought in to ensure that there was no weapon associated with the bullet found.
A further investigation discovered two additional bullets in two separate bathrooms which caused officials to prolong the lockdown.
Jette says that after a thorough sweep of the Pierce Middle School, the lockdown was transitioned to a stay-in-place and they were able to deliver lunch to students who moved about in their classrooms.
He also said that “everyone followed the protocol that we have in place in the event of these emergency situations.”
Jette also ads there was no violence associated with this event.
