Cooling centers around the South Shore
Cohasset – Cooling centers will be at the Willcutt Commons (91 Sohier Street) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Paul Pratt Memorial Library (35 Ripley Road) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Brockton – A cooling center will be open the Brockton Library (304 Main Street) on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Marshfield – Residents are invited to stop by Town Hall (870 Moraine Street), the Senior Center (230 Webster Street), and the Ventress Library (15 Library Plaza).
All locations will be open through Friday – the Senior Center is open 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
The Ventress Library is open Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Town Hall is open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. through Thursday. It will be open on Friday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Norwell – The Council on Aging (293 Pine Street) and Norwell Public Library (64 South Street) will be open during normal business hours as cooling centers.
Kingston – The Senior Center will be open as a cooling center on Tuesday until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Plymouth – The Center for Active Living (at 44 Nook Road) will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Employees can assist residents in need of transportation by calling April Thompson at 508-830-4230 extension 106.
The Main Library at 132 South Street will be open as a cooling center from Monday-Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., closed on Sunday.
The Manomet Branch Library at 12 Strand Ave. will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., closed on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Scituate – The Scituate Council on Aging (333 First Parish Road) will be open between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
The Sloop is available for transportation, residents can contact the non-emergency line at the Public Safety Complex.
