In Plymouth, in expectation of State Legislature approval of a home-rule petition to allow the town to hold hybrid Town Meetings, Town Moderator Steven Triffletti has scheduled a planning session for today, at PACTV.

At Special Town Meeting last month, members approved Article 2, asking the State Legislature for a home rule petition to allow the town to permit hybrid Town Meetings.
So, Town Moderator Steven Triffletti has put together a planning session for such a Town Meeting.
“I am meeting this week with OTI Technologies, who have the V Voter program, as well as PACTV, a representative from the Plymouth Public School Department, as well as my Assistant Moderator, Nicole Manfredi. And, together, all of us will be discussing what technology issues may need to be addressed as we plan for a hybrid Town Meeting.”
A hybrid Town Meeting will allow for some members to choose to attend at Plymouth North High School and others to choose to participate from home, so what kind of challenges does this present?
“We have to make sure there’s sufficient band-with at Plymouth North High School to accommodate all of the devices that have been utilized by Town Meeting members, as well as other attendees,” said Triffletti. “In addition, we have to make sure that we integrate the programs with the in-person attendees, as well as those participating remotely.”
Fall Town Meeting is scheduled for October 15th.
