Three-Day Levitate Music Festival Expected to Draw More than 15,000 People to Marshfield Daily

Jul 8, 2022

Levitate Music Festival, a three-day celebration of music, and art returns to the Marshfield Fairgrounds Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Town Administrator Michael Maresco spoke with WATD about preparations for the event.

“On the security plan, traffic plan, since January working with all the appropriate departments. We’ll be trying to move the cars as quickly as possible … we approved the Boys & Girls Club, it’s going to be handling a majority of the parking. The surrounding lots, as well as our residents,” said Maresco. “Residents whose taxes are paid. They were able to get parking permits.”

“We need to rely on everyone to park, because they’re expecting anywhere between 15,000 and 20,000 people per day, each of the three days.”

He says people can park at the Marshfield High School or Furnace Brook Middle School.

“They’ll be able to get on a bus, they’ll go through security first. Security will be very tight,” said Maresco. “The Police Chief [Phil Tavares] and his department have put together a great security plan. There will be security wands, they’ll go through a magnetometer, they’ll get on the bus. It will go to a security area for everyone else parking at the satellite lots. They will walk in a different gate, they will walk through a magnetometer, and they’ll be scanned. Everyone is asked to not bring large bags, backpacks, or anything like that to help to move people through the security lines.”
