Adonis in Greek mythology was known for his beauty and spectacular hunting skills. Similar to the Greek God, our fuzzy young pup Adonis, who is residing with our friends at the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts in Brockton, is a gorgeous boy, black with hints of brindle and a white chest. Adonis is a Lab/Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog mix, and when we tell you this 8 month old puppy is smart, we aren’t kidding around. He’s almost too smart for his own good! He’s a dog that will thrive with a lot of positive reinforcement training such as clicker training and would potentially do great at something like agility as he is so eager to learn. Adonis needs some basics, but once he’s trained enough, and his attention span lasts a little longer, he’ll shine. Adonis also has a strong prey drive and he would do best in a home with no other small critters, cats, or kids. He is super food motivated which helps with training and bonding. This guy could learn anything you want to teach him, and he would do best in a home where someone wants to work with a dog with working breed in their blood, or has had working breeds in the past. He isn’t a puppy you teach sit and down and call it a day. He needs a lot of mental stimulation, plenty of activity and physical exercise, and obviously, tons of hugs and snuggles. He has a huge heart and is ready to get that adorable little face out of the shelter to start living his best life!
