Fire in Wareham Damages Home, One Resident Displaced

by | Aug 12, 2022 | News

A resident was displaced, and a home was damaged after a fire on Windswept Road in Wareham.

Fire Chief John Kelley and Assistant Chief Patrick Haskell arrived within minutes, after initial calls reporting the fire yesterday afternoon at 2:22 p.m.

They found a fast-moving fire moving through the home. Two people were able to evacuate without injuries. Unfortunately, a cat died in the fire.

Captain Micky Bird and the on-duty crew of Engine 5 attacked the fire, which was quickly knocked down. Onset provided station coverage during the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but does not appear to be suspicious.
