In Halifax, the Selectmen held an emergency meeting to accept the resignation of Town Administrator Marty Golightly.
By the end of the roughly five-minute meeting, two members of the three-member board resigned.
Board Chair Ashley DiSesa spoke at the meeting Thursday, audio is courtesy of Area 58 Halifax.
She tendered her resignation from the board, which was effective at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Alexander Meade, who was elected in May, says in the interest of protecting the health and safety of his family – especially his children — he was resigning from the board, which was effective at the end of the meeting.
Remaining board member Jonathan Selig posted video to the town website – saying this was an “unprecedented day in the town’s history.”
He says a special election will be held in the coming months, and details will be released in the next few days.
Golightly was appointed on July 6 as the Town Administrator. There are now unexpired terms to 2024 and 2025 on the board.
