More than five thousand pounds of food were given away at the Veterans Voice Drive-Thru, here at the WATD studios.
Craig Wolfe, co-host of Veterans Voice, says the food is donated from End Hunger New England, which is located in Pembroke.
Matt Martin is the Executive Director for the Outreach program. They also get supplies from the South Shore Community Action Council. Options also include squash, cucumbers, fresh veggies, and even some sweet treats.
While these drives started for only veterans, it’s now open to anyone in need. People will often pick up food for their homebound neighbors.
WATD’s Dan McCready spoke with Joanne Dupras of Randolph, was helping people through the rain.
She says it was her 10th time helping out at the drive-thru.
The event takes place on the second Thursday of each month here at the WATD studios, located at 130 Enterprise Drive, in Marshfield.
