A bicyclist was hospitalized following a crash in Cohasset.
Cohasset Police say that shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday officers were dispatched to a reported bicycle vs car crash in the 300-block of N. Main St.
Upon arrival they found a 57-year-old Cohasset man on the ground with traumatic injuries.
An investigation determined that the bicyclist was traveling at about 20 mph northbound on N. Main St., when a 2011 Ford Escape heading in the same direction cut into the bicyclist’s path to enter a private driveway.
The bicyclist hit the rear door of the Escape and was catapulted through the closed rear-door window of the vehicle, into the backseat area.
He was transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 91-year-old Cohasset man, was issued a citation on scene and an “immediate threat” complaint was filed with the Massachusetts RMV to revoke the driver’s license pending a hearing.
