In Plymouth, although Town Clerk Kelly McElreath, is relatively new to town, she is not new to handling elections.

WATD’s Bobbi Clark has more.

Kelly McElreath has a long record of service as a Town Clerk:

“I came from the town of Upton where I was the Town Clerk for 21 years, so I’ve handled many elections in my lifetime as the Town Clerk of Upton.”

And the Town Clerk reminds voters that early voting begins this weekend at Town Hall:

“You can come in and vote as if it was your polling location—all 18 precincts for in person early voting, vote here at the Town Hall.  And  you can just come in and vote; your ballot will be placed in an envelope and we will be opening that up and processing it through the   voting machines as if you’re showing up on election day to vote.”

McElreath says in person early voting allows voters 2 weeks, including weekends, in which to cast their ballot early:

“In person early voting that we’ll have here at Town Hall, beginning this Saturday, October 22nd, allows the voters, like 14 days to come in and vote at their convenience and have their ballot counted just like they were showing up at the polls on election day.”

The hours for early voting can be found on the town’s website on the Town Clerk’s page.  And vote by mail is currently in process:

“We had thirteen thousand requests for ballots to be mailed out; we got those ballots out this week. Those people that requested those ballots have until Tuesday, November 8th, election day, at 8 p.m. to return them here to Town Hall for them to be counted on Election Day.”
