Plymouth Town Manager Derek Brindisi and state officials held a press conference, after migrant families were moved to hotels in Plymouth and Kingston.
Brindisi says he received a call on Tuesday from a representative from the Department of Housing and Community Development that 27 hotel rooms were secured in town.

State Rep. Matt Muratore, of Plymouth, says this was an emergency situation at the state level.
He says Undersecretary Jennifer Maddox of DHCD has committed to sending resources to both towns.
State Rep. Kathy LaNatra, of Kingston, said in a statement she was notified that up to 27 families, mostly Haitian, were headed to a Kingston hotel.
Most arrived with little more than just the clothes on their back. The group includes 65 children, and two newborn infants. Many of them do not speak English and have basic needs – clothing, housing, and food.
Kingston Town Administrator Keith Hickey says they had little warning this would take place. Initial calls were placed on Friday, when the families were already in town.
Hickey says there’s a need for diapers, and personal hygiene items. There are 64 children, 24 are school-age kids.
Brindisi says he was told this was a short-term mission, and would end by January 1st.
The state is working with Neighborworks to provide food, shelter, and clothing for families.
The Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless has also been key in the effort.
