A person suffered serious injuries, and a Plymouth man was arrested after an hours-long standoff on Samoset Street.

Plymouth Police say 50-year-old Herman Smith is facing several felony charges.

Saturday afternoon, police responded to Samoset Street for a reported stabbing. The victim was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Smith barricaded himself in a home, with a seven-year-old boy. He refused commands to exit or let the child go.

MetroLEC, State Police, and federal officers responded to the scene. The boy was rescued from a second-story window.

SWAT teams swept the home, and found Smith hiding in a closet. He was arrested without further incident.

No other injuries were reported.
