The Plympton Police Department says more than 16 arrests were made Monday morning at the Sysco Food Distribution Plant.
Between midnight and 1 a.m. Monday morning, Police Chief Matthew Ahl says 400 local and national teamster union members arrived at the facility.
About 100 employees inside the facility were unable to leave due to the teamsters blocking both entrances with tractor trailers.
The Plympton Police Department has been monitoring the situation for about 16 days now.
Mutual aid from around Plymouth County is helping Plympton at the facility.
Truck drivers started the strike earlier this month, demanding higher wages, and to stay on health insurance provided by Teamsters Local 653.
Sysco said in a statement to WATD that wage increases were offered, along with health care options at a lower cost. Drivers from Sysco told WATD that those numbers do not add up.
More negotiations are expected over the next few days.
